The nearby church authorities have encroached in to Valliyamkavu temple property situated in Peruvanthanam village of Idukki District and 21 crosses have been installed attempting to convert the same as a pilgrim Centre.

W.P.(c).No. 16732/19 has been filed to remove the crosses and it is pending before the High Court of Kerala.
